Transfer Talk: Suárez and Hernandinho to Real Mardis

ESL | Transfer Talk | Real Mardis

Sources close to the players state that Maridian giant Real Mardis are going to snap up Angel‘s Carlos Suárez and Olympian‘s Hernandinho in the next few days.

This is part of Head Coach Dario Dominguez‘s plant to create Fantasticos 2.0 in reference to the great Mardis side of the early 00s, with Oswaldo Gutierrez, Julio Carlos, Milláo and Juan Pablo Sisco. The funding is in place, so, are the ESL going to lose two of the most exciting forwards? And then who’s next?

Elsewhere, the future of young Andutch forwards Axel Heinz and Robin Overgaard are in the balance. Where will they end up this summer?

Adelphia Arsenal got revenge for last season’s cup final defeat to Juvenese, with a frantic opening to this year’s final. Left Back Ryan Givens broke free down the left and was tripped inside the box by Hugo Alaves, resulting in a penalty kick. Henry Thomas stepped up and broke the deadlock in the fourth minute. Just two minutes later, perhaps mirroring last Sunday’s switch-off against Elverpool, Adelphia dropped their intensity for a moment and Tigres capitalised. A good move involving Pizano and Gillet set up Dario Álvarez for the equaliser, a low crafted shot past a helpless Alberto in goal.

Both teams traded chances in a very open first half; Gillet and Pizano going close for Tigres, Thomas, Mowabé and Bartowski going close for Adelphia. The Arsenal converted a chance out of seemingly nothing after two successive over-hit crosses had opened up the Tigres penalty area. Luis Cesar popped the ball back in and Diego Martinez, playing his very last game for Adelphia, reacted first and slotted the ball past Fredi.

Tigres pressed heavily for the equaliser in the second half, but found Adelphia’s two lines of four impossible to fully break down. Thomas and substitute Jordan Wilcox missed chances to put the tie beyond any doubt with counter-attacks. Adelphia’s Captain Jerome Mowabé kissed the turf in joy at the final whistle- Adelphia, for the second time in their 21 year history, were CONCAFA Club Champions!

CONCAFA: Champs League Final Tonight!

CONCAFA Champions League | The Final

Wednesday 24th May 2017 | 8pm on USN| Mardis, Marida

A great end to the season for ESL fans, with this mouthwatering tie for the Club Championship of CONCAFA! Tigres are perhaps the favourites, the Pandurans have easily dispatched opponents in the knock-out phases. Led by Pierre Gillet up front and with Jorginho and Alaves at the back, this is a stern-test for last season’s runners-up. Adelphia lost the final last year to Juvenese, they followed this up with a last-day failure to capture the ESL championship this season.

Will physical and mental fatigue have set in? Can Frank Lebeau motivate his team for one last trip? With some players playing their last game for the Arsenal, it could be a tremendous way to leave- right on top. Tune in to USN to find out!

ccl_juvenese_2016(border)Juvenese and captain Massimo Galante won it last year, who will it be this year lifting the trophy- Juninho or Jerome Mowabé?

Sources: JPL in Elverpool to sign contract? Who in at Olympians?

ESL Recruitment | Elverpool | Olympians

Reports have come in this evening, suggesting that Jean-Pierre Lévesque (JPL) is in New England to sign a deal with Elverpool. There are reports of a bidding war between ‘Pool and Olympians and that JPL will be making himself at home at the NECOM Arena next season.

Olympians are said to be in discussions with three clubs as to the availability of their coaches- believed to be HallasSan Andreas and Seafax. We expect a decision to be announced by this Wednesday evening.

Wilko named as Melborg Boss, Olympians postpone conference

ESL Recruitment | Melborg | Olympians

David Wilkerson has been named as the new Head Coach of Melborg FC. He will have veteran Coach Ron Gillet working as his Director of Football Operations, alongside the GM. Today’s announcement means that Melborg can now look to replenish and refine the squad as they prepare for the opening of the transfer window and the summer training. Wilkerson has a great rapport with the Melborg fans and has widespread appeal. This should give him a nice honeymoon period, before the real expectations begin!

Olympians have delayed their press conference until Wednesday morning. It appears they had been to hasty in making an announcement of the press conference.

Vadra leaves ‘Pool ‘by Mutual Consent’

ESL | Elverpool FC

2016-17 Copa Eboria Winners Elverpool FC and Head Coach Raj Vadra have parted ways today, it was announced. The team have missed out on CONCAFA Champions League action for five seasons, four with Varda at the helm. It turns out that winning the Copa Eboria was just not enough for either side to be happy this time around.

There had been questions about Vadra’s future throughout the season. Rumours began to circulate more frequently when it was mathematically impossible for Elverpool to qualify in 4th place. Players have already put out their best wishes to Coach Vadra on a variety of social media posts/sites. We, on behalf of the ESL and their fans wish Raj Vadra all the best in his future endevours. It surely can’t be long before he’s in work again.

Breaking News: Vadra leaving, JPL replacing him?

ESL Recruitment | Elverpool | Raj Vadra | JPL

In the hours following Elverpool’s Copa Eboria win, rumours began to circulate that Head Coach Raj Vadra has left the club. The speculation has increased, following reports that Jean-Pierre Lévesque (JPL) was said to have been seen with Elverpool officals before the final. JPL was sacked as Head Coach of Melborg on Monday and was attending the cup final as a guest.

Speaking to journalists after the cup final, JPL said he was “just in town for a few days and then heading off out for business meetings.” This has fueled thoughts that the business he is going off to is to sort out the paperwork with Elverpool and not Olympians, as originally reported. Of course, JPL may be throwing us all some shade. He has form on that.

Elverpool claimed their seventh Copa in a late surge of activity. Late strikes from Aaron Johnson and Axel Heinz put the tie beyond any doubt.

Amorgan threatened early on, with Ellis and Eduardo forcing saves from young ‘Pool keeper Button. Elverpool took that in their stride and took that advantage through a long-range Eriksen free kick. It was 1-0 at half-time.

Amorgan equalised nine minutes into the second-half, with top scorer Eduardo getting on the end of some fine work from Cameron and Connor Kennedy on the flank. Both teams settled into a low-energy funk for around twenty minutes. Perhaps the heat had got to them, or that it was the end of a long season. In the end, Elverpool rose above the mediocrity and Aaron Johnson was fed excellently from Captain Scott Bradshaw, he fired past Ferguson in the Amorgan goal.

With Amorgan chasing for an equaliser, Elverpool caught the Celtic on a counter-attack. Forgotten man, Axel Heinz, started the break and fed into Eriksen, who passed on to Johnson. Johnson beat the defender and pulled the ball back to Heinz, who flicked the ball with his heel past Ferguson. A perfect and impudent finish to the game.

Elverpool Captain Scott Bradshaw lifted the cup and the team partied. The Player of the game was Aaron Johnson.
