CCL ¼ Finals, 1st leg round-up

CONCAFA Champions League | ¼ Finals

The first legs of the ¼ final stages of the CONCAFA Champions League have been completed. The four games left everything positioned nicely for the return games.

ADELPHIA ARSENAL 2-0 RC SANTOS

Adelphia scored at the beginning and at the end of this match. Luis Velasquez scored after three minutes, following good play from rookie Jordan Wilcox. With Santos looking for a vital away goal, Chris Bartowski intercepted a wayward pass and played an inch-perfect through pass to Velasquez who calmly outpaced the Santos defenders and finished under Santos goalkeeper Quimberto.

ALFA 1-0 PACHUCA

ALFA secured a template performance for this season, with a wily 1-0 win over Mexican giants Pachuca at the ALFA Arena. A first half Roman Baric strike was enough to keep things very open for the trip to Mexico.

ANGEL 2-2 OLYMPIANS

Angel continued from where they left off against Juvenese in the last round. They took an early 2-0 lead, with goals from Carlos Suárez  and Giovanni. Patrick Brady must have made one heck of a half-time teamtalk. Olympians began the second half as a team possessed. Eventually they broke down the Angel defence and scored courtesy of a Martijn Bockel header. With six minutes remaining, Olympians got a vital second away goal, when Nelinho struck following a rebounded Bockel free-kick. With it square at 2-2, Olympians know 0-0, or 1-1 will get them through.

TIGRES 1-1 PUMAS

In the all-Mexican affair, there was nothing between Tigres and Pumas. One of these teams will make it through, but there was no apparent superiority following the first leg.
